Debian Documentation
There is a great deal of documentation about Debian freely available on the Internet. Alternatively you may order most of it on CD / DVD.
- The Debian Installation Guide is your friend while installing Debian. I suggest you read it before installing Debian.
- The Debian FAQ is a good starting point for beginners, and contains a list of other documentation available.
- The Debian Reference Manual is a more advanced reference work.
- The Debian GNU/Linux Desktop Survival Guide covers many topics. The book is organised alphabetically over very many separate HTML pages.
- The Rute Book covers GNU/LINUX system administration, for popular distributions like RedHat and Debian, as a tutorial for new users and a reference for advanced administrators. Once you have installed Debian, the Rute Book is available by installing package rutebook.
There are also other sources of help:
- The Debian User Mailing List (can also be accessed as a newsgroup).
- The Debian IRC channel.
